When looking for inspiration for new products it's often helpful to look at how things were built in the past. Of course technology has made many things more efficient but as a designer it's helpful to see how ideas for functional items have evolved, and how they stay the same. The MTA's Subway Museum in downtown Brooklyn is a time capsule of transportation technology, reminding us that once upon a time, such an industry took pride in design details and even celebrated them.
